Jewelry Care Instructions
At Glass & Thread Jewelry Co., we aim to make and sell high quality handmade jewelry that is made to last. We choose the best materials on the market and test our products for strength and longevity. Here, we have some tips and tricks to help you keep your jewelry looking gorgeous and fresh! Creator is not responsible for jewelry damage as a result of failure to follow care instructions.
For all Glass & Thread products:
Store away from direct sunlight to avoid discoloration or sun-bleaching.
Polishing cloth is recommended for cleaning, but if you choose to use a cleaning solution, make sure the cleaning solution is made for the metal that your jewelry is made with.
Store in a dry environment.
For Jewelry Made with Glass
For our glass-based jewelry we recommend the following:
Avoid storing in direct sunlight or submerging in water. Although our beads are treated, sun-bleaching or repeat exposure to water can cause the color to shift or fade.
For the metal earring hooks (Surgical Steel, Sterling Silver, or Gold Plated), wipe down with a polishing cloth to maintain shine. Choose a jewelry cleaner that is manufactured for the metal type.
For Jewelry Made with Stretch Cord
For our jewelry made with stretch cord, we recommend the following:
Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, essential oils, or water. These can cause the cord to wear out and stretch, or, in the case of harsh chemicals or essential oils, completely snap the cord.
Avoid over-stretching the cord. If your bracelet is made with stretch cord, roll on the bracelet over the hand onto the wrist as opposed to pulling/stretching it open and then inserting the hand.
For Jewelry Made with Cord
For our cord-based jewelry, we recommend the following:
If your cord-based jewelry gets wet, allow it to dry completely before storing it to avoid damaging the cord.
Try not to stretch the cord if it gets soaking wet to avoid warping the jewelry.
Avoid exposing the jewelry to harsh chemicals. This can stain or discolor the cord.
