Customizations and Commissions
Here at Glass & Thread Jewelry Co., we take pride in the fact that all of our pieces are handmade. Not only are our pieces high quality and beautiful, but nearly all of our pieces are customizable.
Some examples of things we are able to change for customization include:
Switching Base Metal Colors (Gold to Silver and vice versa)
Changing Sunburst Earring Point Numbers (changing from a 9-point to a 12 point)
Taking the color scheme from one size and applying it a different size (starting size at 15mm to 30mm)
Changing the size of a bracelet (sizes not listed on sizing chart can be custom made)
Hook/Earwire Exchanges (switch the color of the hook)
Bead colors
If you see a product you like and are interested in further customization than just the options on the product page, we invite you to contact us via the contact form available HERE (insert link).
We also offer commissions for more complicated customizations or brand new products! Commissions are only available by contacting us via email for the contact form available HERE (insert link).
Some examples of things we can change for Commissions:
Structural materials (changing from a stretch bracelet to a corded or clasp bracelet)
Earring Elements (changing a fishhook to a leverback, drop hoop to wire hoop)
Necklace Lengths (specific lengths or styles, such as a choker or layered necklace)
Custom Colors or Charms
What are the differences between customization and commissioning?
Customization changes are alterations that still personalize our products for you, but are quick changes that do not change the overall integrity of the design. Things like changing metal colors, bracelet sizes, and earring hook colors, can be done easily!
Commissions allow for more in-depth customization and individual attention than standard customization. Clients who choose to commission pieces work directly with our artist to create more individualized, or in some cases, brand new pieces. Commissioning allows the client to ask for changes that affect the actual design of a product or structure, and color. Commissions are perfect for those who have an idea for something new or for those who desire multiple product changes.
Some examples of commissions include:
Taking the colors or pattern of one design, such as a Sunburst, and turning it into a leverback hoop
Creating new patterns
Changing a necklace/bracelet type
New color combinations that are currently not available
Requesting charms that are not currently available
Are there additional charges for commissioned work?
Yes. Additional charges depend on the complexity of the request and the cost of materials needed to complete the commissioned work. Here at Glass & Thread Co., we value the input of our clients. Therefore, we are transparent about costs before work is started on commissioned works. We love working with clients directly to create pieces that they will love to wear!
If you are interested in commissioning work, please email us directly at info@glassandthread.com or use the form on our contact page. Select commission as the reason for contacting if you choose to use the form. Once we receive your message, we will contact you with estimates, design possibilities, and our commission agreement forms. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
